By September 12, 2016Member updates

Welcome to the September 2016 Liv-ex newsletter
Summer is typically a quiet period for the fine wine market. This year activity has not slowed down: last month trade on the Exchange was almost a third higher than in August 2015. The fine wine indices have also been climbing. The Liv-ex 1000 Index closed August at an all-time high of 281.62; the Liv-ex 100 increased for the ninth consecutive month.

Liv-ex also saw its first ever trade in English wine in August when a 6×75 case of Nyetimber Classic Cuvee, 2010 traded on the Exchange for £120. Other developments from the month are below.

LWIN: a case study with LCB Vinotheque
Liv-ex has published a case study on how LWIN – unique identifiers for fine wine – helped to transform operations at LCB Vinotheque.

The study explains how Vinotheque incorporated LWIN into its systems. This change has dramatically increased efficiency within the warehouse. You can read the case study on the Liv-ex Developer website, here.
