By November 26, 2015Member updates

We’d like to give you advance warning of changes to Vine’s insurance terms, which will come into effect from 1st January 2016. Changes will affect all members (current and future) who have stock covered under Vine’s insurance policy.

The changes are as follows:

  • The life of all SIB Passports will be extended from two to three years.
  • Wines will only be covered for “damage to labels, implosion of protruding corks or heating” if:
    • there has been an insurable event such as fire, flood or failure of our climate control systems and/ or
    • the wine in question is carrying a valid SIB passport.

Terms for those who have opted out of Vine’s insurance policy will remain unchanged: maximum liability for loss or damage is limited to £100 per 1000kgs under UKWA storage conditions, and 2 SDRs per kg under BIFA terms for movement (2 SDRs is equivalent to £1.82 per kg as at 23rd October 2015).

All other Terms and Conditions will remain as previously stated.
