Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the wine a barrel range of 94-96 points, highlighting its ‘elegant nose’ of black cherry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant pastilles and cedar. He calls the wine ‘cohesive and full of character’, lauding it as ‘another superb Margaux’ from winemaker José Sanfins.

James Suckling scored the wine a barrel range of 93-94 points, calling this ‘solid Margaux’ ‘already delicious’.

William Kelley (Wine Advocate) noted that ‘A few years ago, this estate purchased 22 additional hectares in the heart of the plateau of Margaux, including old vine Cabernet Sauvignon’, which he said ‘helps to explain why the 2022 Cantenac Brown is so good’.
