As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Cantenac Brown 2021 has been released at €34.2 per bottle ex-négociant, unchanged on the 2020’s opening price.

Critics’ scores

Neal Martin (Vinous) gave the wine a barrel range of 90-92 points saying it was a ‘fine-boned Cantenac Brown’ that would be ‘suited to early drinking’.

The wine was also awarded 92-94 points by William Kelley at the Wine Advocate, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW for The Wine Independent rated it 86-88 and Jane Anson gave it 93-points.

Fair Value analysis

Buyers looking for value have many choices among back vintages. The 2020 is currently available for the same price but has a score of 95-points from Martin.

All vintages dating back to 2014 have better scores than the 2021 and only the 2016, 2015 and 2014 are slightly more expensive.

The 2019 vintage has a current Market Price of £374 per case and has a score of 95-points from Martin.
