Contrary to mixed reports today that the Yquem 2015 release would be delayed, we can confirm that the wine is now being offered by merchants at £3,000 per 12×75. You can find our analysis below.

Yquem 2015

Yquem 2015 was released today at €250 per bottle ex-negociant, the same price as the 2014 release. It is being offered by the international trade at £3,000 per 12×75, an increase of 5.2% on the 2014 opening price of £2,850.

Neal Martin, who awarded the wine 98-100 points, commented that “this is an Yquem without a hair out of place… it will rank alongside the 2001 and 2009”. James Suckling also marked this Yquem as a candidate for perfection, bestowing a score of 99-100 points, he praised this vintage as “very close in greatness” to the 2001.

Buyers looking for value in back vintages should note the 2007. Both Neal Martin and Robert Parker scored the wine at 98 points; the market on Liv-ex starts at £2,220.

Note: This post previously quoted the release price as £3,168 per 12×75, the recommended price set by the estate. It has since been released by some merchants at £3,000.
