Bellevue Mondotte 2016 released

Bellevue Mondotte 2016

Bellevue Mondotte 2016 has been released at €115 ex-negociant, up 6.5% on 2015 (€108). It is being offered by the trade at £1,320 per 12×75. In sterling terms, this is an increase of 14.8% on last year’s release price of £1,150.

Neal Martin (95-97), Antonio Galloni (95-98) and James Suckling (96-97) have all heaped praise on the wine. Martin commented: “This year the Bellevue-Mondotte has pulled off a very luxuriant 2016 with a greater sense of control, a wine that should drink beautifully for many years”.

This price positions the 2016 above the majority of other recent vintages, but discounts it significantly on the 100-point 2005 and 2009.

Back vintages that might be considered include the 2012. It has a score of 92 from Robert Parker, several years in bottle and is available at a discount of 9.2% on today’s release.7
