Guiraud 2016 released ahead of tastings week

Guiraid 2016

Chateau Guiraud 2016 was released this morning at €30 per bottle ex-negociant, making it the first Bordeaux chateau to be offered En Primeur this year. This is equal to the release price of its 2015.

There are currently no critic scores for the wine. The trade, who head off to Bordeaux next week, are also yet to taste it. It is therefore unlikely that any major merchants will offer it to their customers until they have tasted it.

Given currency changes over the past year, it is likely to be offered to Sterling buyers at a higher price than the 2015 release. The chart above shows an estimated range for the merchant release of the wine (£315-360 per 12×75), but time will tell. In this case, the proof of the pudding (wine) will be in the tasting.
