The Liv-ex 1000 Index gained 0.4% in May to close on 255.79. While the Bordeaux 500 remains the best performing sub-index over one year – a position it has held since February – a 0.2% drop last month means the gap is closing between it and other indices.
The Bordeaux Legends 50 Index climbed the furthest in May, rising 1.4%, while the Champagne 50 Index was close behind with a 1.2% gain. Having been previously strong in 2016, the Rhone 100 dropped back by 0.8% and was the only index apart from the Bordeaux 500 to fall.
