Cantenac Brown 2015 follows the morning’s releases

Cantenac Brown

Cantenac Brown 2015 has been released at €33.6 per bottle ex-negociant, up 30.2% on the 2014 (€25.8). It is being offered for £350 per 12×75, up 40% on the 2014 (£250).

Neal Martin described the 2015 as “another great Margaux”, saying it was “not the most ostentatious Margaux in what is a fecund season for the appéllation, but I suspect it will surprise a few wine-lovers as it ages.”

Martin scored the wine 92-94, higher than any recent vintage bar the 2010, although it is also more expensive than many others. It should be noted that Martin gave 93 to the 2009, unlike Robert Parker who awarded it 90 (describing it as “the biggest discrepancy between barrel and bottle”). Buyers who trust Martin’s palate may be interested to see that the 2009 is the same price as the new release.
