Beausejour Duffau 2015

Beausejour Duffau 2015 was released today at €72 per bottle ex-negociant, up 33.3% on the 2014 (€54). It is being offered by merchants for £750 per 12×75, up 42.9% on the 2014 release (£525).

Beausejour Duffau 2015 received mixed reviews from critics. Neal Martin said the wine “needs to muster a touch more tension and sense of energy right on the finish.” He rated it 91-93 points. James Suckling said the wine was better than any vintage he had drunk since 1989, including the 1990. He said it had “transparency and beauty like a rainbow” and gave it 98-99 points.

At £750 per 12×75, Beausejour Duffau 2015 is priced above all of the back vintages except the 100-point 2009 and 2010. Buyers seeking value may be tempted by the 2005, 2013 and 2014. These are scored at 91, 90-92 and 90-92 points respectively and are available at a discount to the 2015.
