Rieussec 2015: a high release

Rieussec 2015

Rieussec 2015 has been released at €42 p/b ex-negociant, equal to the release price of the 2014. It is expected to be offered by merchants at £445 per 12×75, an 11.3% increase on the 2014 merchant release price of £400. As the chart above shows, this means that it is very close to being the most expensive of recent Rieussec vintages: only the 2013 – with a market price of £450 – costs fractionally more.

The wine has received positive reviews from Neal Martin (95-97 points) who called it “a top-tier Rieussec that hits all the right buttons.” However, sweet-toothed buyers are likely to find greater value amongst the back vintages: the 2009, for example, has a score of 97 and is available at a 35% discount to the 2015.
