Talking trade: 12-18th December

Liv-ex 50

In the final week before Christmas the Liv-ex 50 continued to hold steady, rising 0.2%. After seven weeks as the most traded wine by value, Mouton Rothschild dropped to second place when a few heavy trades for Lafite Rothschild 2010 boosted the brand’s share of trade.

Regional share

As expected in the approach to Christmas, there were heavy volumes of trade for lower-value drinking wines. Champagne also saw good activity, taking 8.6% of trade; more than any other region except Bordeaux. Cristal 2006 was one of the most traded wines by both value and volume, while Delamotte Blanc de Blancs was the third most traded by volume.
