Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index ends the month on a high

All of the Liv-ex indices pushed upwards in September, bolstered, in part, by energetic First Growth trade. The fine wine market's benchmark index – the Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 - ended the month at a new high of 308.21. The index is currently up 1.53% month-on-month and 28.8% year-to-date.

The Liv-ex Claret Chip Index, which measures the performance of top-scoring First Growths, was up 2.35% to 374.27 – a rise of 42.0% year-on-year and 37.9% year-to-date.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine Investables Index saw a change of 1.8% in September. The index is up 29.5% year-to-date and 35.0% year-on-year.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 500 touched 239.74 by month end, moving up 1.8% (+4.16 points) on last month. The index is up 11.6% year-to-date and 16.9% year-on-year.

And finally, the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 Index saw the greatest gains in September, closing at a high of 356.51. The index is up 3.15% month-on-month and 46.1% year-on-year.
