The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index changes direction

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index - the industry's leading benchmark - ended July at 300.93, down 3.74 points (1.23%) on June. After months of record highs, the move downwards is the first since March 2009. The index is up 38.3% year-on-year and 25.7% year-to-date.

The Liv-ex Claret Chip Index took a similar turn, touching 361.13 on Friday the 30th, a change of -1.55% on last month. The index is up 49.2% year-on-year and up 33.1% year-to-date.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 closed at 339.22 on Friday. The index is down 1.3% month-on-month, and is up 50.5% year-on-year.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine Investables Index proved more resilient in July, rounding off the month at 295.21, a -0.3% change on June. The index is up 39.0% year-on-year and 25.9% year-to-date.
