Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) called the wine ‘breathtaking’, awarding a potentially perfect 98-100 points. In her tasting note, she describes ‘scents of blueberry pie, cassis, and preserved plums, eventually giving way to a gorgeous perfume of violets, star anise, cedar chest, and iron ore’.

Pricing analysis

While today’s release comes in at a discount to last year’s, it remains one of the most expensive vintages of the past decade currently available on the market. For those looking for value opportunities, there are options in back vintages

The 96-point 2018 and 2020 vintages are both available at a discount to the 2023 and may be of interest to buyers. Of these two, fans of Lisa Perrotti-Brown may opt for the 2020. The critic awarded the wine a perfect 100-point score, calling it ‘gorgeous’. At a Market Price of £2,200, it is available at a 21.0% discount to today’s release.

The 2016, hailing from a proven vintage and benefitting from additional time in bottle, may also be a compelling option. Alongside the 2018 and 2020, the wine received 96 points from Neal Martin and is available at a discount to today’s release.
