Critical response

The wine was rated 98 points by The Wine Advocate. Critic Luis Gutierrez said ‘the wine has the ultra sleek and polished texture and the elegance and the balance that is the signature here; the wine is very clean and precise’. He further noted that ‘overall, this is a triumph over the adverse conditions of the vintage. They produced their usual 100,000 bottles (since 2018), as they are renewing their vineyards and want to keep the volume stable’.

Jane Anson awarded the wine 97 points, calling it ‘great stuff, playing at a high level’.

Meanwhile, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) awarded the wine 95 points.

Fair value

The new release comes at a premium to others on the market.

The 2018 and 2019 vintages look good value in relation to today’s release. They were both scored the same 98 points by the Wine Advocate as the 2020 and are available at discounts of 22.9% and 20.2% respectively.

Buyers looking for value might also consider the 2016 and 2017, which have a score of 97 points from The Wine Advocate and are both available for less than £700 per case.
