Ahead of the upcoming release of Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé 2014, we review its price in the context of other vintages currently available.

The chart above shows prices of previous vintages compared to their latest Wine Advocate scores. The 2005 and 2007 vintages were not scored by the publication, but Jancis Robinson rated Cristal Rosé 2005 17.5/20 and called it ‘luscious and lovely already’ when she tasted it in 2014. Antonio Galloni (Vinous) scored the 2007 vintage 97 points, praising its ‘extraordinary overall balance and remarkable finesse’.

At the time of writing, Cristal Rosé 2014 had not yet been scored by any major critics.

If the 2014 vintage were to be released at the same price as the 2013 (£4,364 per 12×75), and provided it is rated similarly highly to its predecessor, the wine might constitute a good opportunity.
