Paul Jaboulet Ainé Hermitage Chapelle 2020 was released in the UK today at £1,452 per 12×75, the same as last year’s release.

The Wine Advocate’s Joe Czerwinski awarded the wine a barrel range of 93-95 points.

In his tasting note, Czerwinski said, ‘after the past several vintages, the 2020 Hermitage La Chapelle will need to add significant richness and concentration if it is to compete at that level’. However, he added that ‘it is still an excellent wine’.

Buyers looking for value may want to consider the 2019 vintage. It currently has a Market Price of £1,450 per 12×75, but a higher score of 98+ points from Czerwinski.

The 2019 last traded today for £785 per 6×75 (£1,570 per 12×75). At the time of writing there is still a LIVE offer at this price.

With a Wine Advocate score of 97 points and several additional years of bottle age, the 2012 vintage also looks attractive.
