By June 10, 2020Uncategorized

Lynch Bages 2019 has been released at €66 per bottle ex-negociant, down 26.6% on the 2018’s opening price of €90. It is being offered by the trade for £790 per 12×75, down 26% on the 2018 price per case (£1,068).

Release volumes are down 20% on last year.

James Suckling is the only major critic to have released his assessment of the wine thus far. He scored today’s release 96-97 points and described it as “structured”, “full-bodied with very polished, creamy tannins and lots of intense dark fruit”. More critic scores are expected to come out in the coming hours and days.

Prices for Lynch Bages show a surprisingly low correlation to age or ‘Benchmark Critic’ scores. However, followers of Suckling will find good value in today’s release, as seen in the chart below.

Echo de Lynch Bages 2019 was also released this morning at €22.8 per bottle ex-negociant, down 20.8% on the 2018 (€28.8).
