On Monday 30th March, to coincide with what would have been the start of the En Primeur tastings, Decanter’s Bordeaux correspondent, Jane Anson, hosted a webinar on the region called ‘Beyond En Primeur’.
Liv-ex’s very own Justin Gibbs was asked to take part in the webinar to shed some light on the region’s secondary market activity. Other attendees included Daniele di Vecchi from Saturnalia, Nicolas Glumineau from Pichon Lalande, Axel Marchal (ISVV), Didier Marcellis (Chateau Serilhan), Andrew McInnes (Domaines CGR), and Alain Raynaud (Grand Cercle de Bordeaux).
In the webinar, the speakers discuss what the 2019 vintage is like, the implications of delaying the releases and more generally, how the region is responding to our new Covid-19 reality.
Thank you to everyone who attended the live session and has been in touch with us as a result. For those of you that missed it, the recording is available below.
On Thursday, we published for our members our latest report, Bordeaux 2019: the value of time, which contains in-depth analysis and examines the Bordeaux market in light of the recently announced En Primeur postponement. For more information, click here.
The webinar was hosted by Jane Anson and organised by The Real Business of Wine. In March, Robert Joseph (Wine Thinker) and Polly Hammond (5forests) launched The Real Business of Wine to coincide with what would have been the start of Prowein. The aim of the website is to bring industry professionals together through a series of webinars, so that they can share their expertise and experiences in a challenging time for the industry.
