By June 29, 2018Talking trade
  • Bordeaux trade share falls to three-month low
  • Louis Roederer, Cristal 2008 most active wine for second week in a row
  • Bordeaux 2017 concluding report published

A second week of thinner First Growth trading brought Bordeaux’s trade share down to a three month low of 50.7%. In spite of this, The Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 reversed last week’s losses, closing on Thursday at 358.93, an increase of 0.4% on previous week.

Louis Roederer, Cristal 2008 was this week’s most active wine by value and volume once again. The last trade price of £2,130 represents a 10% jump on last Friday and a 49% increase on the official release price.

Bordeaux 2017 concluding report

Yesterday Liv-ex published it’s concluding report on the 2017 En Primeur campaign. Sales of Liv-ex UK members halved by value and dropped 60% by volume. Given the amount of wine left in Bordeaux at the wrong price it’s likely that 17s will weigh heavy on the market once they become physical in 18 months’ time.
