Larcis Ducasse has been released at €48 per bottle ex-negociant, down 9% on the 2016 release of €52.80. It is being offered by the trade at £588 per 12×75, a decrease of 8% in sterling terms on the 2016 release of £642 per case.

The volume of stock coming to market is down 30% on the previous year.

Neal Martin (Vinous) scored the wine 91-93 points. In his tasting note he described it as “a more classically styled Larcis-Ducasse this year but it should age well”. He goes on to say: “I expect it will land towards the upper end of my branded score”.

Chris Kissack (The Wine Doctor) was slightly more generous and awarded the wine 93-95 points. He commented that it “has real confidence and very fine potential. An excellent effort in this vintage”.

Prices for Larcis Ducasse are 93% correlated to score. Based on today’s release of £588 per 12×75, Liv-ex’s ‘fair value’ methodology places the 2017 above the trend line.

Buyers looking for value may wish to consider the 2012, which carries a higher score and is available at a 23% discount to today’s release. The 98-point 2010 also offers relative value.
