Clinet 2017 has been released at €56 per bottle ex-negociant, a 22.2% decrease on the 2016 price of €72. It is being offered by UK merchants for £690 per 12×75, down 20.1% in sterling terms on the 2016 release of £864 per case.

Neal Martin scored this year’s offering 92-94 points, commenting that it is “undeniably elegant and well balanced… Classic Clinet!”.  Jane Anson, who scored the wine 90 points, noted that Clinet suffered “around 15% frost to their vines, although did not use any second generation fruit in their first wine.”

Prices for Clinet are closely correlated to critic scores. This year’s vintage is entering the market at a premium of over 30% to the price suggested by Liv-ex fair value methodology.  If this looks unattractive, buyers could consider undervalued vintages such as 2016 and 2012.
