Liv-ex 100 drifts 0.1% in January

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 index – the industry benchmark – closed January on 312.47, down 0.1% on the previous month. This is the second consecutive decline for the index. It also fell 0.1% in December 2017.

The top movers this month were mostly from Bordeaux. Cheval Blanc 2005 was the top riser, up 4.1%. Burgundy’s DRC, Tache 2012 followed close behind, up 3.6%.

Cos d’Estournel featured twice this month. The 2003 vintage (+2.9%) was among the top risers, while the 2009 dropped 4.3%.

Last month’s fallers were from various regions. However, all of the wines were from the 2012 and 2009 vintages.

The Rhone’s Beaucastel Hommage J Perrin was the biggest faller, down 4.3%.
