Robert Parker 100-point Verite 2014 released

Verite 2014

Three 2014 vintage wines from the Verite estate in Sonoma Valley have been released today at €210 per bottle ex-negociant: Desir, Joie and Muse. The wines are each being offered by the international trade at £3,600 per 12×75.

All the wines have received strong scores from Robert Parker. He scored Muse a perfect 100-points, describing it as “a legendary effort”. Desir and Joie were awarded 98 and 97+ points respectively.

California’s 2014 vintage is widely admired. In his vintage report last year, Parker commented: “I thought [2014] was a very good to excellent vintage when tasting from barrel, but I now have to rate it … as another superlative year based on how the wines showed from bottle.”

Today’s release price of £3,600 per 12×75 pitches the Verite trio above almost all other recent vintages available on the market. Only Muse 2009 commands a higher price.

Buyers looking for value, therefore, might consider a number of other vintages: eleven wines also received a perfect 100 points from Robert Parker and are available at discounts to this year’s releases.
