Liv-ex 100 gains 0.5% in August

The Liv-ex 100 Index closed August at 308.67, up 0.47% on the previous month. The index is now at its highest level since September 2011 when it reached 322.66.

Aside from Pape Clement 2009, the top movers last month were all from Burgundy and Italy. DRC, Romanee Conti 2012 was the top riser, up 13.7%. The 2013 vintages of both Sassicaia and Masseto also featured, up 8.8% and 5.9% respectively.

Last month’s fallers were a mixed bunch, but the USA featured the most prominently with the 2013 vintages of Opus One and Screaming Eagle down by 4% and 6.4%.

Mission Haut Brion was the biggest faller, down 6.6%.
