Gazin 2016 has been released at €60 per bottle ex-negociant, a significant 31.6% increase on the 2015 price of €45.60. It is being offered by the international trade for £720 per 12×75. This is the highest ever opening price for any vintage of Gazin.

James Suckling scored the wine 94-95, noting that this year’s offering is “a pretty follow-up to the stupendous 2015.” Neal Martin, awarding a score of 94-96 points, commended the wine as “a really marvellous Gazin.”

Prices for Gazin show some some correlation with critic scores (Wine Advocate). This vintage of Gazin is entering the market roughly 20% above the price suggested by Liv-ex’s ‘fair value’ methodology. Buyers looking for value might consider last year’s vintage, which received the same score yet is available for half the price, 20% under Liv-ex’s implied ‘fair value’. Alternatively, the higher scoring 2010 is available at a slight discount.
