Climens 2016 released

Climens 2016 has been released at €48.50 per bottle ex-negociant, equal to the release price of the 2015 (€48.50).

It is being offered by the international trade at £564 per 12×75. This is 9.5% higher than 2015’s opening price of £515 per 12×75, reflecting Sterling’s weakness against the Euro. Only the 2007 and 2011 vintages are trading at higher prices than Climens 2016.

Most critics are yet to score Climens, although Jeannie Cho Lee awarded it 95 and Jean-Marc Quarin scored it 94. However James Molesworth, who only scores wines when tasting blind, noted after a recent barrel tasting, ‘in a year when most of the sweet wines from Barsac and Sauternes are tasty, but lack some complexity, Climens still leads the pack.’
