Pichon Baron 2015: up there with 2009 and 2010

Pichon Baron 2015

Pichon Baron 2015 has been released at €96 per bottle ex-negociant, up 45.5% on the 2014 release of €66. It is being offered by the trade at £995 per 12×75. This is 55.5% higher than the opening price of the 2014 (£640).

This price puts it among the most expensive Pichon Baron vintages – but so does its score. Neal Martin (96-98) called it “possibly the most sensual Pichon Baron that [he has] tasted at this nascent juncture” and confirmed: “If you want to know whether this 2015 is up there with the 2009 or 2010, the answer is unquestionably yes.”

Buyers seeking value further back might look to the 2008. It has received 95 points from Robert Parker and is available for 29% less than the 2015.
