Canon 2015: firing high

Canon 2015

Canon 2015 has been released at €60 per bottle ex-negociant, up 55.8% on the 2014 release price of €38.5. Offers from the international trade are expected to start at £625 per 12×75.

While prices are up significantly on last year, so is its score. Neal Martin (98-100) called it a “benchmark for [the] historic estate” while James Suckling awarded the wine a straight 100-points, calling it “the greatest red ever produced here”.

Liv-ex members appear to agree, ranking it their joint third favourite ‘value’ wine of the vintage with Rauzan Segla.

If offered at £625, the wine will be available at a discount of between 17-22% to the 2005, 2009 and 2010.

Update 03/06/2016: Merchants are reported to have received extremely high demand for this wine. The opening offer price from several UK merchants was £750 per 12×75. It is suggested that the wine sold through at this price.
