By November 20, 2015Fine Wine Market, Talking trade

Liv-ex 50

Although the Liv-ex 50 continued to slide – dipping 0.5% this week – the Bordeaux First Growths saw an increased market share, taking 32.7% of all Liv-ex trade. The value and volume of total trade also rose significantly on last week.

Regional share

Lafite and Mouton Rothschild were the most popular First Growths, taking 12% and 9% of all trade respectively.  Older vintages found the bid, with Lafite’s 1982 and 1998 among the five most traded wines. As a whole, the region saw most demand for the 2010 vintage – continuing the theme of recent months.

Traded by value

Three of the top five most traded wines by volume are from Italy. Although it missed out on a position in the table, Poggione Brunello Montalcino 2010 was among this week’s most traded – after it was awarded fourth place in Wine Spectator’s annual list of their top 100 wines, released last week.
