Liv-ex 100 dips 0.6% in October

Despite activity on the Exchange reaching its highest levels since March, both the Liv-ex 100 and Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 dipped in October. The Liv-ex 100 drifted 0.6% to close on 240.25 after running completely flat in September. It is up 0.7% year to date. The Liv-ex 50 closed the month down 1%, putting it into negative territory – down 0.4% – year to date.

The month’s best and worst performing wines come from Burgundy: Ponsot, Clos Roche Vv 2012 gained 23% while Armand Rousseau, Chambertin 2012 dropped 11.6%. Two DRC, Tache vintages also performed well. 100-point Montrose 2010, which has been lagging behind the Chateaux’s equally scored 2009 vintage, climbed 5.6%.
