Talking Trade: 2nd – 8th October

After running flat in September, the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 drifted 0.5% this week. Bordeaux’s trade share (by value) dipped to 72.2% after two weeks at over 80%, and Champagne – which recently overtook Burgundy to become the third most traded region in 2015 – also saw reduced levels of activity. Instead, attention turned to Italy which took 12.3% of all trade by value.

Regional

Italy was in part boosted by activity for Masseto 2010, which appears in the top traded by value table. Overall, 29 individual Italian wines traded: Tignanello, 2009 and Gaja, Sori Tildin, 2010 were also amongst the most active.

For the second week in a row, Lynch Bages features in the tables: its 2008 (93 RP) and 2000 (97 RP) saw good activity.
