After a recent dip the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 began to recover this week, gaining 0.7%. Bordeaux’s share remained below 70% but activity for the First Growths increased: they accounted for 34.4% of all trade by value.

Several Bordeaux 2012s found the bid, with Lafite Rothschild 2012 leading the charge and Mouton Rothschild 2012 also entering the top five table. These are the cheapest physical wines of recent vintages from their respective Chateaux, and have scores of 91 and 94 points from Robert Parker.

Lafite Rothschild 2010, which has been dropping in value for the past three years, also caught buyers’ eyes while Screaming Eagle 2012 continued to find demand after regularly featuring amongst the top trading wines in recent weeks.
