Pontet Canet 2014 was released today at €66 per bottle ex-negociant, the same price as the 2011 and up 10% on both the 2013 and 2012 (€60). With a merchant release price of £648 per 12×75, it is the fourth most expensive of the recent vintages currently on the market: only the 100-point 2009 and 2010, and 96-point 2005 are higher. Several back vintages have comparable scores and are being offered at lower prices. The 2008 in particular appears to offer better value to the buyer: it has a higher critic score, several years in bottle and is available at a 12% discount to the most recent release.
