Pichon Lalande started the day’s Bordeaux 2014 releases at €64.8 per bottle ex-negociant, up 12.5% on 2012 and 2013 (€57.6). Offered by the trade for £625 per 12×75, it is cheaper than the majority of back vintages and the same price as both the 2007 and 2012, yet scores more highly than both. In late 2012 the estate was taken over by Nicolas Glumineau, formerly of Montrose, and Neal Martin has opined that under his guidance the estate is “really beginning to "motor’". Martin considered the 2014 “an excellent wine, one within touching distance of First Growths.”
