EP_pichon baron

Pichon Baron was the first of the major 2014 releases today, releasing at €66 per bottle ex-negociant, up 22% on 2013 (€54) and up 1.5% on 2012 (€65). With an anticipated UK release price of £650 per 12×75, the 2014 vintage will be more expensive than the last three vintages and a similar price to the 2006, 2007 and 2008. With a score of 92-94 from Neal Martin it is on a par in terms of quality with the 2012, which has a market price of £600. Meanwhile at £680 the 2008 looks particularly good in comparison, with 95 points from Robert Parker and several years in bottle.
