Haut Bailly has been released at €43.2 per bottle ex-negociant, up 9.1% on 13 (€39.6) and up 2.9% on 12 (€42). It has a barrel score from Neal Martin of 91-93, though the critic commented: “Expect this to land at the top of my banded score.” With a merchant release price of £415 per 12×75, several similarly scored vintages are available on the market for less. The 2006 in particular – awarded 95 by Robert Parker – appears to offer relative value. However, with a strong following amongst the international merchant community and the momentum provided by the recent confirmation of its 100-point 2009 in the Wine Advocate, the 2014 is likely to find some favour.
