Mouton Rothschild_2014

Mouton Rothschild is the first Bordeaux First Growth to release its 2014 vintage, at €240 per bottle ex-negociant, the same price as the 2012 and up 11% on the 2013. With an expected London release price of £2,350-£2,400 per 12×75, this puts it on a par with the current market price of the 2013, which had significantly lower scores (91-93 from the Wine Advocate, compared to the 95-98 that the 2014 has received from the Wine Spectator and the 96-97 from James Suckling). In relation to other back vintages the 2014 is 30% cheaper than the 2006, which was the vintage Liv-ex members and critics thought most similar in quality.

Petit Mouton 2014 also released, at €78 per bottle ex-negociant. The 2011 released at €72 while the 2012 and 2013 released at €66 each, making the 2014 18% more expensive than the previous two years. However, in terms of current prices it is the cheapest in the market, with an expected London release price of £775 per 12×75. It also has relatively good scores, with 91-94 from Wine Spectator and 93-94 from James Suckling.
