Beychevelle opens the week’s releases

Beychevelle_2014

Beychevelle 2014 was released today at €43.2 per bottle ex-negociant, up 12% on both the 2012 and 2013 vintages (€38.4). With an expected UK release price of around £415 per 12×75, the 2014 will be more expensive to buy than the 2013 and the same price as 2012. However, it looks good relative to other back vintages and its quality may help it to find a market. James Molesworth in Wine Spectator awarded it 91-94, while James Suckling and Jeff Leve have both scored it 93-94. It was also voted seventh best value wine by merchants in the annual Liv-ex En Primeur survey
