This week the Exchange saw a high volume of trade – units traded were up 34% on the previous week – and the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 continued to hold firm: a positive start to March.
Bordeaux’s share dropped while Champagne and Italy both saw high levels of activity. Brunello Montalcino 2010 was brought into the spotlight by the Wine Advocate’s Monica Larner who described its ‘soaring beauty’ and named it an ‘iconic’ vintage. Argiano, Brunello Montalcino 2010 continued to trade well: it topped this week’s volume table after entering it three times last month.
A number of regions and vintages entered this week’s top value and top volume tables. Cheval Blanc 2005, which topped the value table last week, saw strong trade for a second week running.
