Liv-ex 1000 index holds steady in March

Liv-ex 1000

After five months of falls the Liv-ex Fine Wine 1000 held steady in March, rising 0.1%. Four of its seven sub-indices saw rises, including the Rest of the World 50 and Champagne 50, which have shown the best performance over two years. Within the Rest of the World 50, Penfolds Grange 2004 (with 98 from Wine Spectator and 19.5 from Jancis Robinson) saw the greatest month-on-month price movement, climbing 14%.

While the Bordeaux 500 dropped by 0.2%, the First Growths continued to be dragged down, falling 1.2%.  Some of the biggest price rises within the Bordeaux 500 came from Sauternes: Suduiraut, Coutet and Rieussec 2003 all rose by more than 15% each.
