Red Obsession: ‘power, passion and the fine wine game’

By March 21, 2013Bordeaux, Regions

“The whole production volume of the entire world will not be
enough to satisfy the Chinese market.”

That’s just one of the soundbites that we’re treated to in
the trailer for Red Obsession, which was screened at the Berlin Film Festival a
few weeks ago. Exploring China’s increasing infatuation with Bordeaux red wines,
the documentary features interviews with winemakers, critics, MWs and
journalists – and Liv-ex Director James
Miles.

The film is the brainchild of producer Warwick Ross,
award-winning screen-writer David Roach and Andrew Caillard MW of auctioneers
Langtons. Narrated by Russell Crowe and released by Lion Rock Films, it will
first be shown in Australia in late July, followed by the US in August and then
the rest of the world.
