Mouton 2003: on the rise

Mouton Rothschild 2003

Since the start of 2013 the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 has risen 2.7%.
After spending much of the second part of 2012 hovering below the 300 level, it
has now reached 310.64.

Which of the First Growths is pushing it up? With a trend
for off-vintage Firsts prevalent at the end of 2012, January has seen the more
acclaimed vintages back in play. In August, Mouton Rothschild 2003 was trading
for as little as £2,660 per 12×75 – the same as it was in March 2010. Now it is
creeping up, having traded yesterday for £3,285. This is still £1,000 cheaper
than the price it was trading for at peak. Do buyers perceive value in the
First Growth market once again?
