After running flat for most of the month, all of the Liv-ex
indices ended September with a slight gain. Rising 1.30 points (0.5%), the Liv-ex 100
concluded the month at 260.08: up 0.5% on August, but down 9.2% since the start
of the year.
It was a champagne that ended the month on a high, with
Cristal 2002 (LWIN 1082542)
moving up 11.57% in September, more than correcting the 5.87% fall
in price it saw
in August. The highly scored Leoville Las Cases 2000 (LWIN 1012374)
also made waves, along with two perfect scoring 2009s (continuing
the vintage’s success) and an older Mouton Rothschild (LWIN 1013544). Meanwhile the fallers’
category was dominated by First Growths, although the largest drop in price was
to Cos D’Estournel 2005 (LWIN 1008788).
