The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 may have continued its descent, but the fall was notably slighter than that of the last two months. Dropping by 7.4 points it closed the month at 257.69 – down 2.81% on June 2012, and by 10.0% since the start of the year.
Burgundy’s market share of trade rose to 6% in July, and it is a DRC wine (LWIN 1028704 – scored 19 points by Jancis Robinson) that tops the month’s Liv-ex 100 movers’ table. The 'perfect' Pontet Canet 2009 (LWIN 1014307) was also on the rise in July.
Haut Brion saw price decreases for both its 2005 and 2008 vintages, while Latour has a vintage in both the top risers and fallers for July.
