Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index falls 4.73%

Livex100

For the second month in a row, the Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 index fell by over 4%. Concluding June at 265.12, the index is down by 4.73% since May, and by 7.4% since the beginning of the year.

With buyers continuing to look beyond Bordeaux, June was a month in which Italian wines had a chance to shine. As shown in our table below – which lists the major movers in the Liv-ex 100 – vintages of Ornellaia (L-WIN 1102024) and Sassicaia (L-WIN 1102037) are rising above the market blues, while older vintages of Bordeaux continue to appeal to buyers.

Following the same trend as May, last month’s fallers are composed solely of Bordeaux wines, although Latour 2002 (L-WIN 1012316) is the only Premier Cru to have suffered a serious change in June.
