Liv-ex Indices drift lower in November

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 descended for the fifth consecutive month in November – albeit at a slightly slower pace. The index fell 3.27 per cent to 297.96 – a change of 11.40 per cent year to date and -9.48 per cent year on year.

Having shuffled between daily highs and lows, the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 reached 351.91 by month end - down 3.31 per cent on October. The index has fallen 12.27 per cent this year and -10.09 over the last 12 months.

The Liv-ex Claret Chip, which is also composed exclusively of First Growths, fell in tandem with the Liv-ex Fine Wine 50. The benchmark dropped 3.28 per cent to 351.37, sending its year-to-date loss to 15.07 per cent. It is currently down 13.26 per cent year on year.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine Investables dropped 3.01 per cent month on month to 310.28. Since January, it has fallen 7.05 per cent and it is currently down 4.92 per cent year on year.

The Liv-ex Fine Wine 500 is the broadest based of all of the Liv-ex Indices. Although the index edged down 1.26 per cent to 272.62 in November, its year-to-date performance remains positive at 6.01 per cent. Year on year, the index is up 9.96 per cent.
