The Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 Index dipped below 2010 year-end levels for the first time last week. The benchmark, which tracks the price movement of the ten most recent physical vintages of the First Growths, closed at 396.41 yesterday - a fall of 1.17 per cent year to date. Over the same period last year, the index rose more than 37 per cent, having benefited from buoyant First Growth prices.
