Mouton and Haut Brion maintain their lead

The Liv-ex Claret Chip Index reached 430.99 on Friday, reflecting an increase of 0.78 per cent week on week. Mouton and Haut Brion continued to command the lion's share of First Growth trade, whilst Lafite prices rose at a gentle pace. Of the vintages on the up, Haut Brion 2006 saw the largest price rise – increasing in value from £3,280 per 12x75cl case to £3,525. Haut Brion 2003 and Mouton 2000 also saw heated trade and posted gains of six per cent each.
